What is the PADI Underwater Naturalist course?

The PADI Underwater Naturalist course is a unique opportunity for divers to learn more about the marine environment and how to protect it. This course allows divers to develop a better understanding of the underwater world, the creatures that live within it, and the relationships between them. By taking the course, you’ll be able to recognize and identify the various types of marine life that you encounter on your dives.

What qualifications do you need to take the PADI Underwater Naturalist course?

This course is designed for certified Open Water Divers or above. However, it is recommended that you have some diving experience under your belt before taking this course. This is an ideal course for those who want to learn more about marine animals, and it’s also suitable for those who wish to learn more about marine conservation.

Underwater Naturalist Course Schedule

The PADI Underwater Naturalist course has both classroom and dive components that cover the following aspects of the underwater environment: ecology, fish identification, and the relationships between underwater organisms. The course takes two days to complete, and you’ll have four dives in total.

This course is available at all Poseidon Diving Centres. Poseidon diving center is the first five-star PADI diving center in Sri Lanka and has been in operation for 50 years. Underwater Naturialist certification is available at the best price in Hikkaduwa (October to April South Coast) and Nilaveli Trincomalee (April to September East Coast).
